Jolly Phonics

The phonics program that we use at Shirley Warren Primary and Nursery School is Jolly Phonics. Jolly Phonics is a thorough foundation for reading and writing. It uses the synthetic phonics method of teaching the letter sounds in a way that is fun and multi-sensory. Children learn how to use the letter sounds to read and write words.

If you wish to find out more, click here to visit the Jolly Phonics website. There are some free resources and a detailed explanation of the pronunciations and actions for the different sounds. You can also download the parent guide.
