STUBBINGTON!

Day 3

The sea air means that we are all getting lots of sleep and waking refreshed and ready for the new day. Our first activity was to check the animal hotels we had put out last night. We were all very excited anticipating what we might find in our boxes and we were not disappointed. In total, year 6 collected 3 bank voles, 1 field vole and 5 long-tailed mice! We took various measurements and discovered their age and gender before observing and sketching them. Once we had released them back to their log burrow we ate another delicious Stubbington lunch before heading back out to the beach to make rock pools, discover fossils and have a sandcastle competition. The teachers thought their castle was the best, but they were disqualified because they were not year 6 children! After dinner, we ventured out into the dark grounds for a treasure hunt! We are all very excited to see what excitement tomorrow will hold!
