New Year R: A Wonderful Start at Shirley Warren

We are delighted to share that our Year R children have made a fantastic start to the year at Shirley Warren. They have settled in brilliantly, showing independence, enthusiasm and a wonderful attitude to school life.

During their first week, the children have been learning all about our routines, exploring their new environment and making new friends. It has been a pleasure to see them growing in confidence as they begin to settle into their new class and embrace the opportunities ahead.

A key focus this week has been practising our whole-school rules:

• Be ready
• Be respectful
• Be safe

The children have been working hard to show these values in everything they do and we are incredibly proud of how well they have responded. They have already demonstrated curiosity, kindness and a real eagerness to learn, which has made for a very positive start to their school journey.

We know that the beginning of Year R is a very special milestone and it has been lovely to see the children taking their first steps with such confidence and positivity. We are looking forward to a year full of learning, discovery and new achievements.
