Nursery Blog! Week 2

We have had another lovely week in Nursery! Now that we are in our second week, it has been wonderful to see the children becoming more settled, confident and familiar with our Nursery routines.

We have continued getting used to our team times and have been learning which colour group we belong to. We have enjoyed spending time with our friends and talking all about ourselves, including sharing some of our likes and dislikes.

We have been sharing the story ‘Goat Goes to the Playground’ and enjoyed spotting similarities between Goat's experiences and our own Nursery. The children have been talking about what they recognise and making connections with their own experiences. 

During our Rainbow Phonics sessions, we have been getting to know our new friends Pip and Pap. The children have really enjoyed meeting them and have started singing some of the Pip and Pap rhymes together. We have also been learning the rhyme ‘The Wheels on the Bus’, joining in with the actions and enjoying singing together. 

Our creative and imaginative play has been very busy this week! We have used playdough to make different faces, thinking carefully about our eyes, noses and mouths. In our construction areas, both indoors and outdoors, we have been busy building houses and talking about the different things we might find inside them. 

We were also excited to welcome our new friends to our Nursery family and add them to our ‘Nursery Family’ display. The children made their own handprints to add to our display too, creating a beautiful reminder that we are all an important part of our Nursery family.

It has been fantastic to see friendships developing, confidence growing and the children becoming increasingly independent as they settle into their Nursery routines. We are so proud of how well everyone is doing and can't wait to see what adventures next week brings!
