Week 1 in Year 1

Welcome back to School Year One ☺ 

We are so pleased to welcome our Year One children back to Shirley Warren! Starting a new academic year means new classrooms, new routines and lots of new exciting learning. 

The children have settled into Year One, have got to know their new classroom and are beginning to feel confident with their new routines. We will continue to follow our school rules: Be Ready, Be Respectful and Be Safe. These help us to create a happy, positive environment where everyone can learn and thrive.

Throughout the year, we will also be exploring our school values of Respect, Resilience, Teamwork and Aspiration. We look forward to encouraging the children to be kind and considerate, keep trying when things feel challenging, work well with others and aim high in all that they do.

Please remember that Wednesdays are our PD days so children should come into school in their PE Kits; black shorts/ joggers, plain yellow t-shirt, purple school jumper and plimsolls/ appropriate trainers. 

We are looking forward to a fantastic year ahead and cannot wait to see all the wonderful things our Year One children will achieve!
