🌟 Welcome Back to Nursery! 🌟

What a wonderful first week back we have had! 💛 We have loved welcoming all of the children back to Nursery and seeing their happy faces as they settled back into our familiar routines. It has been lovely to hear all about their holidays, see friendships being renewed and watch the children confidently explore their Nursery environment once again.

This week, we have been spending lots of time remembering our Nursery routines and rules. We have talked about how our actions help to keep everyone safe, happy and ready to learn.

Our three important Nursery rules are:

🤲 Kind Hands – We use gentle hands and look after our friends, adults and our Nursery equipment.

🚶 Walking Feet – We use our walking feet inside Nursery to help keep ourselves and others safe.

🤝 Sharing – We take turns, share our toys and resources and remember that everyone gets a chance to play.

The children have been doing a fantastic job of remembering these rules and helping each other. We have been particularly proud of the way they are beginning to show kindness, take turns and listen to one another.

🎨 A Week Full of Fun and Learning!

Alongside practising our routines, we have enjoyed lots of exciting activities and opportunities to learn through play.

👗 Role Play & Dressing Up
The children have loved exploring our role-play area and getting creative with the dressing-up clothes. It has been wonderful to see their imaginations come to life as they took on different roles, developed their language and played alongside their friends.

🖐️ Our Nursery Family Wall
We have been busy painting our handprints to add to our special Nursery Family Wall. The children were excited to see their handprints become part of our Nursery family and we talked about how everyone is an important member of our Nursery community. 💕

🎵 Rhyme of the Week – 5 Little Ducks
We have been singing our rhyme of the week, ‘5 Little Ducks’, and the children have particularly enjoyed acting out the rhyme using our water tray. It has been fantastic to see some children independently using the resources to recreate the rhyme, count the ducks and sing along as they played. 🦆💦

👋 Welcome to Our New Friends!

We have also had the pleasure of meeting some new friends this week who have joined us for their settling-in sessions. It has been wonderful getting to know them, helping them to feel comfortable in their new Nursery environment and watching them begin to explore, play and build relationships with the adults and children around them.

We are really looking forward to welcoming our new friends properly when they start Nursery next week and beginning lots of exciting adventures together! 🌈💕

These experiences have provided wonderful opportunities for the children to develop their communication and language, imagination, confidence, independence and social skills, all while having lots of fun!

Of course, coming back after a holiday can take a little time, so we will continue to practise our routines and support the children as they settle back into Nursery life.

We are so excited for the weeks ahead and all the fun, learning, exploring and adventures we have planned!
